Sing Along and SmileSing Along Song

By Steven Carr Reuben, words adapted by Judy
Used with permission

Chorus: Sing along song, come sing along
Sing along song with me
It’ll make you smile if you sing for a while
This sing along song with me.

I woke up this morning feeling fine and sang to the morning sun
Let those golden rays pour down and shine on everyone.
So they can sing along song, come sing along…….

It’s good to have you here today. It’s nice that you could come.
We’ll sing a few songs and you’ll sing along. I know we’ll have some fun.
We’ll sing my sing along song…….

I’m glad you listened to my song. I hope it made you smile.
Whenever you’re down, just come on around, we’ll laugh and we’ll sing for a while.
Come on and sing my sing along song…………

Rainy Day Medley

(Adapted from the traditional; new lyrics by Judy Caplan Ginsburgh)

Part I: Rain, rain go away. Come again another day.
Rain, rain go away. Everybody wants to play.

Part II: The rain is falling down with a plip, plop, plip, plop (2x)

Part III: If all of the raindrops were lemondrops and gumdrops
Oh, what a wonderful world this would be!

I’d walk outside with my mouth open wide.
Ah, ah, ah……

If all of the raindrops were lemondrops and gumdrops
Oh, what a wonderful world this would be!
If all of the snowflakes were ice cream and cupcakes
Oh, what a wonderful world this would be!
I’d walk outside with my tongue sticking out
I wouldn’t mind if the sun would never shine
If all of the snowflakes were ice cream and cupcakes
Oh, what a wonderful world this would be!

Rainbow

By: Judy Caplan Ginsburgh; 1983

Rainbow, rainbow I like to see you up in the sky so pretty.
You hide your face till after it rains, then paint the sky with your colors.
Rainbow, rainbow purple and pink, red, yellow, blue and orange
Rainbow, rainbow I’d like to see you up in the sky more often.

Baby Bumblebee

(Sung by Judy and her daughter, Rachel at 4 years old)

I’m bringing home a baby bumblebee.
Won’t my family be so proud of me?
I’m bringing home a baby bumblebee.
Ouch! It stung me!

I’m squishing up a baby bumblebee.
Won’t my family be so proud of me?
I’m squishing up a baby bumblebee.
Oooo! It’s yucky!

I’m wiping off a baby bumblebee.
Won’t my family be so proud of me?
I’m wiping off a baby bumblebee.
Now nobody will be mad at me!

A Penny Saved

By: Judy Caplan Ginsburgh; 1983

When you’re very small, you help around the house
You make your bed, clean your room, and help your mom and dad.
And they give you an allowance. It’s money that is yours.
It’s money that you’ve earned by doing all your chores.

Chorus:  For a penny saved is a penny earned
It’s a saying we should know
So, earn your money wisely
And be careful where it goes.

When you’re all grown up, you will find a job.
You’ll go to work and earn some cash to buy the things you need.
And you will earn your own way with money that is yours
Be careful how you spend it. Don’t throw it out the door.

Chorus…

Aiken Drum (Scottish folk)

Adapted by Judy Caplan Ginsburgh

There was a man lived in the moon
In the moon, in the moon
There was a man lived in the moon
And his name was Aiken Drum

And his hair was made of spaghetti….
And his eyes were made of meatballs….
And his nose was made of cheese….
And his mouth was made of pizza….
And his ears were made of mushrooms…..

You Gotta Sing (traditional)

Lollipop Tree

One fine day in early spring I played a funny trick
Right in the yard behind my house, I planted a lollipop stick.
Everyday I watered it well and watched it carefully.
I hoped someday my stick would grow to be a lollipop tree.

Chorus:  Ha, ha, ha! Ho, ho, ho! What a place to be!
Under my lollipop, lollipop, lollipop,
Lolli, lolli, lollipop tree.

Then one day I woke to find a very lovely sight.
A tree all full of lollipops had grown in the middle of the night.
I sat beneath my lollipop tree and looked up with a grin.
And as I opened up my mouth, a lollipop popped right in.

Chorus……

Winter came the days grew cold as winter days will do.
And on my tree, my lollipop tree not a single lollipop grew.
On every branch an icicle hung, the leaves were bare as bones.
But when I knocked those icicles off, they turned into ice cream cones.

Chorus…….

A Rum Sum Sum (Morrocan nonsense song)
