Eight little candles in a row with a flame so clear

Shine little candles shine, shine, shine

Eight little candles in a row standing straight and tall

Dance little candles dance, dance, dance

Eight little candles in a row swaying left and right

Melt little candles melt, melt, melt

You have been such fun

Eight little candles go to sleep when the day is done.

Shavua Tov

Music: Jeff Klepper, Lyrics: Jeff Klepper & Susan Nanus

Shavua Tov, may you have a good week

May you find the happiness that you seek

Shavua Tov, may your week be fine

May it be as sweet as the Sabbath wine.

The twisted candle brightens out hearts

As together we watch the Sabbath depart

We smell the spices and we taste the wine

As the stars in the sky begin to shine

We say goodbye to a special friend

Another Shabbat has come to an end.

Shavua Tov are the words we speak

To say may you have a happy week.

Sing Along Song

Music by Steven Carr Reuben; lyrics adapted by Judy Ginsburgh

Sing along song, come sing along

Sing along song with me

It'll make you smile if you sing for a while

This sing along song with me.

We woke up this morning feeling fine

And sang to the morning sun

Let those golden rays pour down

And shine on everyone

It's great to see you here tonight

We're so glad that you could come

We're gonna sing a few songs and you'll sing along

I know we'll have some fun.

We're glad you listened to our song

We hope it made you smile

Whenever you're down, just come on around

We'll laugh and we'll sing for a while.

Bayom Hahu

Music by Lisa Silverstein Tzur; lyrics adapted from the Prophets by Pete Tobias

A day will dawn in the time to come

A day when God's name shall be one

All war and suffering shall be through

When that day comes, Bayom hahu

Bayom hahu and on that day

I will wipe all tears away

Sorrow and pain shall all be gone

And My name it shall be one

Bayom hahu, bayom hahu.

Let justice and righteousness flow like a stream

The old and the young shall see visions and dreams

And what they dream shall yet come true

When that day comes, bayom hahu.

They shall not hurt or destroy in your holy place

Your word shall be known to the whole human race

In their lips, in their hearts so they'll know what to do

When that day comes, bayom hahu.

The spear will break and the chariot burn

The hearts of the parents to children will turn

And children to parents and all turn to You

When that day comes, bayom hahu.

Wherever You Go

Words & Music by Rabbi Larry Milder

Wherever you go, there's always someone Jewish

You're never alone when you say you're a Jew

So when you're not home and you're somewhere kind of newish

The odds are don't look far, cause they're Jewish too.

Some Jews live in tents and some live in pagodas

And some Jews pay rent cause the city's not free

Some Jews live on farms in the hills of Minnesota

And some Jews wear no shoes and sit by the sea.

Amsterdam, Disneyland, Tel Aviv

Though they're miles apart

When we light the candles on Sabbath eve

We share in the prayer in each one of our hearts.

And some Jews wear hats and some Jews wear sombreros

And some wear kafiahs to stay out of the sun

Some Jews live on rice and some live on potatoes

Or waffles, falafels, or hamburger buns.

Amsterdam, ..........

Body Rock

Adapted from the song "Body Rock" published by Little House Music, Los Angeles, CA)

Come on and get that rock and roll in your head

In your head, in your head

Come on and get that rock and roll in your head

We're doing the body rock.

Substitute.....arms, hips, feet (Use Hebrew words too)

side to side, front to back, all over you

Well you can feel your knees moving from side to side

Dancing with the beat

And when you feel that rock and roll down in your feet

The feeling's oh so neat!

Last time: Come on and take that rock and roll back to your seat

Back to your seat, back to your seat

Come on and take that rock and roll back to your seat

We're doing the body rock (sit down)

We're doing the body rock (have a seat)

We're doing the body rock! Yeh!

Amazing Kids

Words & Music by Judy Caplan Ginsburgh, © 1997

When I was young, I knew that I wanted to sing a song

And as I grew, I learned to sing and have you sing along

If you dream it, don't just dream it, You can do it if you try.

You can be whatever you want to be.

'Cause you're amazing, yes, you're amazing

You can do it if you try

You're amazing, yes, you're amazing

It's a fact you can't deny.

When you are young, you learn many things to see what you do best.

And then one day you'll discover the thing you do better than all the rest

If you dream it, don't just dream it. You can do it if you try.

You can be whatever you want to be.

Cause you're amazing, yes, you're amazing

You can do it if you try

You're amazing, yes, you're all amazing

It's a fact you can't deny.

You can do anything, if you try!

Lullaby

Music & lyrics by Debbie Friedman

Before you close your eyes and lay your head down on your pillow

I know that God will keep you safe throughout the night

It seems the light has gone to sleep as you will

Now darkness has a turn to be

And you'll be safe throughout the night

So many things to think about before you go to sleep

You did so many things today

And you'll do so many more tomorrow.

So many things to feel about before you go to sleep

God will take care of the ones you love

May blessings come to you

And keep you safe until the morning

The angels all around you keep you safe throughout the night.

So now just close your eyes and lay your head down on your pillow.

I know that God will keep you safe throughout the night.

Tzedakah

Hear the clink of money in the can.

We can do our best to lend a hand.

With tzedakah, with tzedakah

We can help our fellow man.

Every person doing their part.

It's a very good habit to start.

With tzedakah, with tzedakah

We can open up our hearts.

We can help those in need.

We can all do our share.

When you give tzedakah

It shows you care.

Hear the clink.........

Sing A Song About A Rainbow

Chorus: Sing a song about a rainbow of everlasting love.

Sing a song about a rainbow and a promise from above.

Yesterday I was caught in the rain soaking wet from my head to my toe

Then I remembered a story I'd heard about Noah so long ago

People knew what would happen if they didn't listen, but only Noah obeyed

So, God sent the rain to fall down on the earth 'till all the evil was washed away

Chorus........

For 40 days and 40 nights all it ever did was rain.

God gave us a rainbow as a promise it would never happen again.

Now life is a test, we all try our best

But it's hard to know right from wrong.

Just ask the question has a lesson been learned?

And remember to sing this song.

Chorus.....

In My Sukkah

I built a little sukkah

Out in the back

It looks like a house

And a little like a shack

Well it's not too big

And it's not too high

When you sit inside

You can see the sky.

Chorus: Shake, shake, shake the lulav

Smell the etrog so sweet.

Come and have a looka in my sukkah

And help yourself to something to eat

In my sukkah, in my sukkah, in my suu........kkah.

I built the roof

Of sticks and twigs

I strung up apples

And nuts and figs

And some bananas

And that's not all

There were fruits and veggies

All over the walls.

Chorus.....

I built my sukkah with cloth and wood

It looks so pretty and it smells so good

With leaves and branches all around

My momma lights the candles when the sun goes down.

Chorus......

Lulav Shake

Sukkot is a harvest holiday

The celebration lasts for seven days

We build our sukkah

Then we decorate

A special booth in which we congregate.

Do the lulav shake (shake, shake, shake) (3x)

Do the lulav shake.

The symbols of sukkot are quite unique

They show God's presence the entire week.

The etrog's smell it gets into the air

We wave the lulav everywhere.

Do the lulav shake........

Hadas and aravah on either side

Surround the lulav that we shake with pride.

To north, the south, the west and to the east

We celebrate and then we feast.

Do the lulav shake........

Line Song

By: Billy B

Well, a line needs a leader, It needs a caboose

It needs to stay straight, and it needs to be loose

Don't push, don't shove, Just take your time

And you walk, walk, walk in your line

Yea, you walk, don't talk, Walk in your line

The whole class has to go from here to there

The teacher has to know just whose where

So somebody's first and somebody's last

And in between, you got the rest of the class

A line needs a leader..

Everything was fine and dandy, dandy. Children of the Lord.

Rainy Day Medley

(Adapted from the traditional; new lyrics by Judy Caplan Ginsburgh)

Part I: Rain, rain go away. Come again another day.

Rain, rain go away. Everybody wants to play.

Part II: The rain is falling down with a plip, plop, plip, plop (2x)

Part III: If all of the raindrops were lemondrops and gumdrops

Oh what a wonderful world this would be!

I'd walk outside with my mouth open wide.

Ah, ah, ah......

If all of the raindrops were lemondrops and gumdrops

Oh what a wonderful world this would be!

If all of the snowflakes were ice cream and cupcakes

Oh, what a wonderful world this would be!

I'd walk outside with my tongue sticking out

I wouldn't mind if the sun would never shine

If all of the snowflakes were ice cream and cupcakes

Oh, what a wonderful world this would be!

Rainbow

By: Judy Caplan Ginsburgh; 1983

Rainbow, rainbow I like to see you up in the sky so pretty.

You hide your face till after it rains, then paint the sky with your colors.

Rainbow, rainbow purple and pink, red, yellow, blue and orange

Rainbow, rainbow I'd like to see you up in the sky more often.

Baby Bumblebee

(Sung by Judy and her daughter, Rachel at 4 years old)

I'm bringing home a baby bumblebee.

Won't my family be so proud of me?

I'm bringing home a baby bumblebee.

Ouch! It stung me!

I'm squishing up a baby bumblebee.

Won't my family be so proud of me?

I'm squishing up a baby bumblebee.

Oooo! It's yucky!

I'm wiping off a baby bumblebee.

Won't my family be so proud of me?

I'm wiping off a baby bumblebee.

Now nobody will be mad at me!

A Penny Saved

By: Judy Caplan Ginsburgh; 1983

When you're very small, you help around the house

You make your bed, clean your room, and help your mom and dad.

And they give you an allowance. It's money that is yours.

It's money that you've earned by doing all your chores.

For a penny saved is a penny earned

It's a saying we should know

So, earn your money wisely

And be careful where it goes.

When you're all grown up, you will find a job.

You'll go to work and earn some cash to buy the things you need.

And you will earn your own way with money that is yours

Be careful how you spend it. Don't throw it out the door.

For a penny saved......

Aiken Drum (Scottish folk)

Adapted by Judy Caplan Ginsburgh

There was a man lived in the moon

In the moon, in the moon

There was a man lived in the moon

And his name was Aiken Drum

And his hair was made of spaghetti....

And his eyes were made of meatballs....

And his nose was made of cheese....

And his mouth was made of pizza....

And his ears were made of mushrooms.....

Lollipop Tree

One fine day in early spring I played a funny trick

Right in the yard behind my house, I planted a lollipop stick.

Everyday I watered it well and watched it carefully.

I hoped someday my stick would grow to be a lollipop tree.

Ha, ha, ha! Ho, ho, ho! What a place to be!

Under my lollipop, lollipop, lollipop,

Lolli, lolli, lollipop tree.

Then one day I woke to find a very lovely sight.

A tree all full of lollipops had grown in the middle of the night.

I sat beneath my lollipop tree and looked up with a grin.

And as I opened up my mouth, a lollipop popped right in.

Ha, ha, ha......

Winter came the days grew cold as winter days will do.

And on my tree, my lollipop tree not a single lollipop grew.

On every branch an icicle hung, the leaves were bare as bones.

But when I knocked those icicles off, they turned into ice cream cones.

Ha, ha, ha.......

Always do what's right.
